Genova (Genoa), Italy
Genova is a nice Italian Port city, with a rich history, beautiful museums and beaches.
I'm sure that you will find a time for a visit, once you are in the area. Although I would say it can not be compared to Rome or Florence...
I will try to describe here some of the places in the city, and the things I found attractive.

| The heart of Genova is probably it's Port. It is a modern port, but there is a developed old port area as well. One can find bars, restaurants and museums in the old part. It's a very much popular place. There are a few Hotels situated close to water, and the Aquarium of Genoa is one of the main city attractions. The Il Bigo became one of the cities symbols, located on the beach. Cineplex Porto Antico is a multi-screen cinema with 10 hales. |

| FOOD IN GENOVA *** A nice and cheap way to eat in Italy is the Aperitivo system. Aperitivo is more popular in the north of Italy, though you�ll find a form of it throughout Italy. Ask a local for the best aperitivo restaurant or bar to find the one in the town you�re in. Getting Aperitivo usually means buying an expensive drink, but getting a variety of starters a side. What is offered with your aperitivo drink depends on the bar. A few olives and potato chips are the classic offering, though some get very elaborate with fresh pizza, fruit salads, hot pasta, cold cuts like prosciutto and bresaola, fresh savory pastries and even fresh mozzarella in some bars!

BEER IN GENOVA *** In the Porto Antico (old port) of Genova there is one very much alive place called Bicu. It a beer fabric, serves the audience with big pints of beer, which are measured in liters. The bar serves some food (sea food as well) with the beer, but in the huge territory you definitely feel the BEER every where. They have a children meal, but probably not in the evening. | THE OLD CITY Walking around the old part of the city can be interesting. The labyrinth of narrow and tall alleyways are common in Genoa streets lead you to some unexpected places, squares, shops, galleries, churches. |

INTERESTING TRANSPORTATION Interesting transportation in Genova is the Funicular. You buy a ticket (same as for metro), and the train takes you to a different experience. The view from the upper points the funicular takes you is spectacular. There are 3 different funicular systems in Genova and wisitors should take them to reach the secret beauties of the city. BOCADASSE - an old Genova bay
| Boccadasse is an old mariners neighborhood of Genoa. It lies at the eastern side of the Corso Italia stroll, the main sea front stroll of the city. The origin of the name is uncertain, one of the hypothesis is that the name comes from the form of the bay - shortening of the genoese for donkey's mouth boca d'aze. You can arrive to Bocadasse by car or by bus. Notice the beautiful buildings of the modern city on your way. You will see them along the road and the sea. Those are the new neighborhoods of Genova, a new view of the city.
